Tableau Next is the next generation of our analytics portfolio, enhancing actionable insights with semantic AI. With Tableau Next we are adding a deployment option for cloud to be hosted on the Salesforce Platform, providing the most secure foundation for Tableau yet, accelerating agentic AI innovation and global compliance across different geographic locations. Tableau Next will provide a reimagined analytics experience focused on collaboration, reusability, and agent-powered workflows to make action on data more efficient.
Whether you have Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, CRM Analytics, or any other analytics solution from Salesforce, you and your analytics assets are in good hands and will continue to be invested in. We have robust product roadmaps for each of these existing products today and will deliver on them—see all the latest capabilities we’ve released across the Tableau platform.
We understand that many organizations have made deep investments in other tools, and our roadmap includes connecting them to Tableau Next to allow you to use them together. Customers can use their own data lakehouse by leveraging Data Cloud connectors—this includes batch and streaming ingestion, zero copy, and bring-your-own-lake capabilities. We are working on the ability to translate an existing semantics layer from another system to reuse in Tableau Next. We are also working on opening the Tableau Next semantic layer completely, so that it can work with existing semantic layers in the market.
CRM Analytics is a tool for visual analytics and predictions native to Salesforce Clouds. Tableau Next provides agent-powered analytics that can be embedded everywhere and an end-to-end API-first, enterprise analytics stack that is flexible and reusable. Both products are hosted and maintained by Salesforce. While Tableau Next is the next generation of our analytics portfolio and will be the pathway to the latest generative AI and agentic capabilities for analytics, CRM Analytics will continue to exist for customers who are not ready for that journey.
Tableau Next’s data layer is powered by Data Cloud, meaning it supports the same connectors as Data Cloud. Tableau Next will support a robust set of live and direct connectors, including Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Databricks, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and more. Additional connectors, such as SQL Server (Cloud AWS live and ingest) are planned for future releases. Beyond these connectors, Tableau Next will also enable direct ad hoc ingestion of CSV and Excel files within the authoring experience, offering additional flexibility for quick data exploration.
Tableau+ offers the most direct path to Tableau Next today by providing a comprehensive package tailored for wall-to-wall adoption.
