By 2025 Australia will need 156,000 new technology workers, with 87% of jobs now requiring digital skills.
This digital skills gap requires urgent action from business leaders and governments alike.
The Salesforce-YouGov Digital Skills — Australia report reveals the current capabilities, expectations, and requirements for digital skilling across industries. These findings are based on a survey conducted with more than 1,000 mid-level managers and senior management professionals from private, public, and not-for-profit organisations in Australia.
With 79% of managers surveyed believing there are barriers for their organisation acquiring additional digital skills, and only 34% of managers believing that their senior management is placing a high level of importance on addressing the digital skills gap – the digital skills gap needs to be addressed now.
Here are some of the additional key findings from the report.
