The Salesforce World Tour is only a couple of days away and the buzz is definitely building. Last year was my first time attending this event and I have to admit to being really impressed by the size, scale and energy of the event. To see thousands of people, congregating at the ICC in Sydney for a day of innovation, learning, career transformation and giving back was a pretty amazing spectacle.
From attendee to speaker
I attended the event as an interested spectator last year, but this year my role has morphed into one of Expert Panellist and Social Media Commentator. On the day, I’ll be adding my voice to a panel discussion chaired by Customer Growth & Innovation Evangelist, Tiffani Bova from Salesforce where we’ll share our “Top Secrets to Driving a High Growth Organisation”. Joining me on stage for this discussion will be Red Balloon Founder, Naomi Simson plus speaker, author and customer experience expert Ron Kaufman.
So what am I most looking forward to in lead up to World Tour 2019? I’m interested to hear the perspectives of my fellow speakers at the event to see where we’ll agree and where our opinions may diverge. With topics like the rise of AI, the evolution of the sales industry and importance of customer experience on everyone’s lips, it’s sure to be a robust and impactful discussion across the different sessions.
The Keynote
I’m also excited to hear from Salesforce’s President, Chief Product Officer and Quip Co-Founder, Bret Taylor, in his keynote address. I look forward to seeing how he weaves together stories and anecdotes from Salesforce customers and explores the innovative ways they’re using technology to solve their problems and unlock value in their businesses. There’s something about the way our brains work, that means we relate far more to real world stories and experiences, than the theory of how a problem might be solved.
The future of sales
Another session I’ll be sitting in the front row for will be ‘5 Trends Shaping the Future of Sales with News Corp Australia’. In this session Dominic Hatfield, CIO at News Corp will share his views on the changing face of the sales industry and the critical role which technology has to play in this transformation. This theme of digital transformation is one which is likely to come up again and again at World Tour, given how widespread this trend has become across industries, geographies and business in general in recent years.
Diverse sessions
As I plan my agenda for this year’s Salesforce World Tour, trying to decide which sessions to attend from the myriad of choices available, what struck me most were sessions on:
- Addressing Australia’s Trust Crisis
- The Intersection of Ethics and Technology
- What Do Women Want
- Introduction to the Mobile SDK
- Security Basics for Admins
This contrast of content excites me, because it demonstrates a commitment and a willingness to tackle the real issues on people’s minds and in people’s hearts.
As the clock ticks down to 8.00am on March 6, I’m putting the finishing touches to my talking points for the day. There’s a whole lot I’m looking forward to about attending an event that brings together ideas, communities, technology, leaders, Trailblazers, not for profits, entrepreneurs, cubicle escapees and more, for a single day with a sense of shared purpose and optimism for what the future holds.
Join me and some amazing Trailblazers on Wednesday 6 March 2019.
