Salesforce Customers Bring Hundreds of AI Agents To Life at Agentforce World Tour Auckland

The Agentforce World Tour arrived in New Zealand last week, as more than 1300 attendees filled Auckland’s iconic Shed 10 to get hands on with AI agents.

Salesforce leaders and innovative New Zealand companies such as Fisher & Paykel, realestate.co.nz, MediaWorks, Parkable and McLeod Cranes demonstrated Salesforce’s AI vision to harness the third wave of agent-powered AI.

The event builds on the momentum of the world’s largest AI conference, Dreamforce, where Agentforce was first announced.

“The excitement levels are palpable, the level of interest and engagement with Agentforce is as high as I’ve ever seen it for launching a new product here in New Zealand,” said Salesforce’s New Zealand Country Leader, Hamish Miles

“The urgency is real. Sometimes for enterprise technology there is a long time to reach implementation and value. But with Agentforce the results are rapid. I’ve never been this excited about technology.”

New Zealand Country Leader Hamish Miles told the Shed 10 crowd that Agentforce was “what AI was meant to be.”

Across the day, Salesforce customers from all types of industries brought Agentforce to life, building more than 400 autonomous agents to address a variety of unique business needs and pain points that affect their organisations.

Customers only needed to provide a simple description of their use cases through an AI-powered Slack app that interfaces with a Large Language Model (LLM). In a matter of minutes, their inputs transform into a functioning AI agent prototype that they could take home with them to continue experimenting.

Traditional chatbots and copilots have depended on human inputs, and thrive on fixed rules and rigid scripts, though they struggle with complex tasks. Agentforce introduces a new level of autonomy, going beyond just assistance. It retrieves necessary data, reasons and creates action plans, and executes them independently. Agentforce uses real-time data to adapt to changes and operates within an organisation’s customised guardrails, ensuring every customer interaction is informed and valuable. When needed, Agentforce smoothly transitions to human employees, providing a summary of the interaction, customer details, and next-step recommendations.

Over 1300 attendees filled Shed 10 to discover more about how New Zealand businesses can implement autonomous AI agents.

“There’s a real opportunity for New Zealand businesses to claim a first mover advantage here,” said Hamish Miles. “Quite often for technology it’s been better to be a second mover, to gather the learnings from the first. But this isn’t about throwing out yet another standalone AI model, this is about adding incredible new functionality right in a trusted and secure platform”.

“Agentforce is so easy to implement, and so rapid to deliver impact, there’ll be a clear advantage to those organisations who adopt it.”

Abi Spence is the Global Head of Marketing for Parkable, a provider of parking management software across New Zealand, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. Speaking from the Campground at Agentforce World Tour Auckland, she said the impact of autonomous agents will be significant.

“It’s hard to not be caught up in the hype surrounding Agentforce. It was great to be here in Auckland in person to see these new autonomous AI agents in action. This third wave of AI gives marketers like myself plenty to think about as we plan our customer engagement strategies.”

“Salesforce has played a vital role in bringing our Marketing, Sales, and Service teams together here at Parkable. With it, we’re able to provide each of our customers with a more personalised and effective experience—and we’re excited to keep building on this as we grow,” she concluded.

The Agentforce Campground was busy throughout the day, with attendees given the chance to build their own autonomous agent live.

It was a busy week for AI Trailblazers in New Zealand’s largest city, with more than 100 people attending the AI Now Tour the day before Agentforce to get free hands on learning with data and AI tools.

“We remain absolutely committed to fostering AI innovation and reducing barriers to entry” Hamish Miles said as part of his keynote address on the day. “Since 2014 we’ve pioneered Enterprise AI, and no matter where our customers are in their AI journey, we’re helping them meet each new wave. The pace of change in technology is so fast, and this is the technological shift of our generation. We need to ensure everyone is equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the AI world.”

Auckland is one of more than 20 stops on the Agentforce World Tour that showcases the capabilities of the new program to customers on the ground. The Tour travels to Melbourne next on November 19.
