As a new member of the Salesforce family and the new country leader for Salesforce Canada, it’s fabulous to be part of a company that lives its belief that “business is a platform for change.” Working in the Canadian tech industry, I always heard great things about the people and culture at Salesforce and I can confirm that the culture is real and a core part of who we are.
Since I arrived, I’ve been impressed by the passion, authenticity, and empathy that employees display each day. They bring an impressive energy as they collaborate with each other and with customers, prospects, and partners, to help deliver digital transformation.
Recently, I was hosting a partner meeting when a sales manager spontaneously knocked on the door to ask for five minutes. He told the partners and I about one of our account executives who had been working with a group of recent immigrants in his local community. The AE connected the group to Trailhead, Salesforce’s online learning platform, where they went on to complete certifications. The sales manager asked the partners about creating internships for the group to help them further their development. I had goosebumps watching Salesforce in action. I’m so grateful to be part of a culture that works closely with partners and the extended community to do good.
In April, we hosted just under 6,000 people at Salesforce World Tour Toronto. It was our biggest event yet in Canada and the energy was palpable. As a former customer who relied on the Salesforce platform to anchor transformation at previous companies, I know firsthand that we can help deliver powerful results.
While I’m pretty new to the Salesforce family, I’ve already participated in several Volunteer Time Off (VTO) events. I particularly loved my time with a group of young women, early in their careers, during International Women’s Day. I’m collaborating with Toronto’s Outforce chapter, our LGBTQ employee resource group, as we plan events for Toronto Pride in June. 500 employees marched with the Salesforce float last year, an incredible number, and we’re already working to create an even bigger turnout this year.
Being recognized by Great Place to Work as a top workplace in Canada means so much to me. It’s more reinforcement that joining Salesforce was a great decision for me. I’m excited to work somewhere with a clear vision for the future of technology and a workplace that fosters a feeling of family to make great things happen.
