Both nonprofits and institutions of higher education need the same tools and resources as for-profit companies. Salesforce’s Power of Us program works with these groups directly, with over 28,000 participating organizations.
The “Power of Us” program gives nonprofit organizations access to Salesforce products and resources so they can drive their success in the same ways that for-profit companies do. This happens with some help from donors and special rates specific to the organizations.
There’s an overview of the program on the Salesforce website, and qualifying organizations can try the product free for 30 days. You can also easily determine your eligibility. On the website, you can also take a readiness survey if you are interested in joining. With this survey you can get a sense of what priorities are most important for your organization.
What is Salesforce?
Salesforce is known for its customer relationship management (CRM) platform, but it also offers a suite of products that can help you grow and manage your organization. For nonprofits, the first 10 licenses are free, and any additional licenses are substantially discounted. Some of these products include Sales Cloud,Salesforce Chatter, Salesforce Service Cloud, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Information regarding each specific license and tool can be found on its product page.
Unique Feature: Us Hub
One important feature for the Power of Us program is the Us Hub, which has resources and services specific to nonprofits. The Hub provides a unique online community and valuable resources that can help facilitate your success with the software.
Once you have the Salesforce program, there are three steps to joining the Us Hub feature. These steps are explained in more detail on the website, but in essence:
- Update your Chatter profile and review your settings.
- Ask a question and look at the available resources.
- Join groups, and follow people and topics of interest to you.
