Texas Tech boosts re-enrollment with proactive student support.

Learn how the university boosts re-enrollment with faster student support and trend analysis that anticipates their needs.

Texas Tech closes student support cases 65 days faster with unified data.

Texas Tech University had an enrollment goal of 40,000 students by 2020. Despite meeting and surpassing the goal, the increase in data made it difficult to give each student customized support for their education. The university had data living in silos across the campus, from Excel spreadsheets to individual computers to paper notes.

Now, Salesforce for Education allows Texas Tech to view student data in one place and serve them more efficiently, closing support cases 65 days faster. The university’s “Raider Support Hub,” built on Experience Cloud, gives student success specialists context about each student to tailor their meetings. For example, if the data shows a student is a medium retention risk, specialists can lend more attention and support for their specific needs. Students can also use the Raider Success Hub on their phones to book appointments with their success specialist.

Salesforce Professional Services guided Texas Tech through implementation, reviewing what data it had and analyzing it in unprecedented ways.

“They're very much a part of our Texas Tech team and they know Texas Tech as well as we know Texas Tech,” said Mitzi Lauderdale, Vice Provost for Academic Innovation and Student Success.

Texas Tech also uses CRM Analytics and Marketing Cloud to improve retention and re-enrollment. Tinto’s model of student retention guides the university to look at the five categories that lead to student success, including academic and social integration, goal commitment, institutional commitment, and learning community. CRM Analytics then analyzes Texas Tech’s student data for trends to develop into predictive models that anticipate dropout. Then, specialists use Marketing Cloud to reach out automatically to offer resources and support.

No matter what comes along on the journey to graduation, CRM, AI, and data blended with trust help Texas Tech use student data wisely to help them achieve their dreams.

Investing in Salesforce for Education allows us the opportunity for students to have a connected experience from onboarding all the way through to graduation. Einstein 1 Platform really was that piece of the puzzle that helped us bring together people, process, and technology to support our students.
