I am honoured to share the news that Salesforce is the #1 Best Workplace in Europe for the third year in a row! Recognition like this is a great source of pride for all of us, and I’m looking forward to celebrating this with our team across Europe. What we are most grateful for is receiving this valuable feedback from all of you, which lets us know that we’re still on the right track. After all, we know that creating a great workplace for all is a continuous journey that we must focus on each and every day.
I have to admit, when I joined Salesforce almost one year ago, I did not expect a year like this! It has been so great to see that time and time again, our values — Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, and Equality — drive our actions.
For example, when the world turned upside down, we made sure that our more than 50,000 employees were safe, able to take care of their loved ones, and set up for success to work from home. Many, if not all, of our events moved online, and we found new ways to stay connected to our customers, partners, and employees. We had open and honest conversations about racial injustice and equality, not only in the US but in all of the communities where we operate.
These are challenging times. I know that when we let our values guide us, we can and will succeed together.
Here are a few things that make Salesforce a great place to work for all of us in Europe and around the world:
Enabling people to do their best job
We know that attracting and retaining top talent is the cornerstone of our success. That’s why we create an environment where people can grow their careers, recognise the value of their work, and bring their true selves to work every day.
“Salesforce enabled me to turn my passion for problem-solving into a well-paid job. Now I use my SaaS (Software as a Service) knowledge to support my SaaS (Shopping as a Sport) hobby.”
– Bing, Program Architect Director, Munich
Giving back to our communities
We believe that business can be a powerful platform for change and feel it is our responsibility to serve the communities we are part of. A crucial way we give back is through our volunteer time off program (VTO). All Salesforce employees are given seven days of paid time off each year to volunteer, and we match employee donations up to $5,000. This is all part of our 1-1-1 model – giving back 1% of Salesforce’s equity, employee time, and product to the communities where we live and work. This fiscal year, our employees across the EMEA region have logged more than 83,000 hours of VTO and more than 17,000 hours of pro bono work. We also donated almost $3 million in strategic grants and employee-inspired giving to nonprofits based in the region so far.
“The realization that we can make the world a better place through our technology has triggered something inside me. The giving back spirit at Salesforce has truly transformed my vision on how to work with our customer and partner ecosystem.” – Nelly, Account Executive, Paris
Building and maintaining a strong culture together
When Marc Benioff and Parker Harris founded Salesforce, they were as intentional about our culture as they were about our products and business model. Our culture is at the centre of everything at Salesforce, from our recruiting process to onboarding through to our entire employee experience. We are intentional about our culture, we prioritise it, we evaluate it, and we are constantly innovating on it. That’s how we create one of the best workplaces in Europe and around the world.
“Salesforce gives me the opportunity to learn the best sales methods and challenges me every day. Delivering value to my customers, helping them to make the right choice makes my job meaningful.” – Gauthier, Account Executive, Dublin
