Our communities at Salesforce are hands down the most engaged, passionate, and giving in the world. We are grateful for having so many cultures enriching our workplace. There’s nothing we enjoy more than celebrating our diversity, and we had the perfect opportunity for it: World Tour London. With the bubbling excitement for this event, we harnessed the moment to celebrate the incredible women in tech who keep bringing us innovation!
In the first cross-community initiative in the UK of its kind, more than 100 women and allies from MuleSoft, Tableau, Trailblazer, Slack and .Org communities came together to network, connect and learn. The appetite for cross-collaboration across communities has been strong for some time, and yet the enthusiasm and high registration numbers were a surprise! We must keep up this support and recognition for our talented women.
Inspiring Experiences and Knowledge
Gathered in the Blue Fin Building in London, we kicked off the evening with our host Adele Hawkes (Communications Director, Trailhead and Ecosystem, EMEA) and four remarkable panelists. No topic was off the table for Louise Lockie (Salesforce MVP), Supriya Jaywant Pawar (MuleSoft Mentor), Priya Padham (Tableau Visionary), and Emma Keeling (Non-profit Community Group Leader). They covered a lot of compelling subjects—triumphs and trials, how to deal with unsolicited feedback, and the importance of inclusive language were the highlights. Our panellists’ empowering stories and advice resonated across the room.
After hearing from the panel, networking and collaboration followed as roundtable sessions. People discussed topics like ‘Leveraging AI’, ‘Getting credentialed’, and ‘Overcoming imposter syndrome’. The energy and engagement were noticeable, confirming how important these topics are across our diverse communities:
Collective Support, Collective Commitment
Besides a wonderful community turn-out, an impressive array of senior execs from Salesforce came to show their support, including Brian Millham (President and COO, Salesforce), Ryan Aytay (President and CEO, Tableau), William Sims (VP, Trailhead Academy), Anna Le (SVP, Customer Success), Amir Kabal (VP, Global Equality Strategy), and Michael Peachey (SVP, Slack Marketing). We’d also like to thank Stuart Mills (VP, Trailhead and Ecosystem, EMEA), and Jo Pettifer (VP, UK&I Marketing), for co-hosting the event and setting the tone with their inspiring speeches.
Such high-level support demonstrates how Salesforce values the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) agenda. Celebrating Women in Tech showed the power of collaboration, fostered knowledge sharing, and nurtured meaningful connections within the industry—exactly what we wanted to achieve. Attendees made new friends, learned valuable lessons, and absorbed countless ideas for the future.
