Salesforce Adds AI-Powered Trade Promotion Planning to Consumer Goods Cloud

Salesforce Trade Promotion Optimization for Consumer Goods Cloud is now generally available. This new feature uses predictive AI and intelligent analytics to help customers more efficiently analyze and improve their trade promotion planning for profitable growth.

Why it’s important: Eighty percent of Consumer Goods (CG) executives are unhappy with their current promotion and revenue growth management strategies. One reason why: 60% of trade promotions go unanalyzed.

Innovation in action: Trade Promotion Optimization helps consumer goods companies maximize the value of every dollar they invest in trade promotions by:

  • Leveraging Einstein Discovery to help account managers predict baselines — how much of a product they expect to sell without promotion — and predicting the expected uplift after a promotion. This helps companies build more effective future trade plans.
  • Using intelligent analytics to evaluate historic promotion performance, which better informs current demand plans and reduces future out-of-stock products.
  • Providing one seamless, intuitive user interface for consumer goods brands to easily review and adjust current forecasts.

The Salesforce perspective: “For consumer goods companies that are increasingly focused on driving profitable growth and optimizing trade spend for ROI, a powerful trade promotion management solution is imperative. Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud brings the power of AI, data, and CRM together to create an intelligent and more efficient trade promotion optimization solution that empowers companies to accurately forecast and build highly effective plans for their business goals.” — Kishan Chetan, SVP and GM, Consumer Goods, Salesforce
