Salesforce to Invest $500M in Argentina Over 5 Years

Salesforce pledges to invest in workforce development, AI innovation, and the digital transformation of the public sector in Argentina

Through this investment, Salesforce reaffirms its commitment to Argentina’s vision of becoming a global AI hub

SAN FRANCISCO and DAVOS — January 22, 2025 — Salesforce, the world’s #1 AI CRM, today announced plans to invest $500 million in Argentina over the next five years. The company made the announcement during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

This investment underscores Salesforce’s commitment to supporting Argentina’s vision of becoming a global AI hub. By focusing on workforce development, AI innovation, and the digital transformation of the public sector, Salesforce aims to contribute significantly to Argentina’s economic growth and technological leadership.

Salesforce is experiencing rapid growth in Argentina as companies embrace the next chapter of AI and leverage the remarkable innovation cycle driven by proactive autonomous agents through Agentforce. Industry leaders such as BBVA, Ford Argentina, and Telecom are utilizing Salesforce’s AI technologies to develop digital labor platforms – along with workforce development and training initiatives — that enhance customer experiences.

Over the past year, Salesforce has actively collaborated with Argentina on transformative national government initiatives, including the inaugural Argentina AI Week in December 2024, the Private Sector Working Group on AI, and various reskilling and employment programs. These efforts highlight Salesforce’s dedication to fostering sustainable development through collaboration.

“We’re excited to invest in Argentina to support AI innovation, digital transformation and workforce development with our Agentforce digital labour platform,” said Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce. “We are entering a new era where autonomous agents can be scaled to provide a workforce without limits as humans and agents work together to drive customer success. I look forward to seeing the growth and success of our customers and partners in Argentina.”

Workforce development and reskilling

Since establishing its presence in Argentina in 2019, Salesforce has demonstrated a strong commitment to the country’s development, creating approximately 1,000 direct jobs and supporting tens of thousands more through its robust ecosystem of clients and partners.

According to research by IDC, Salesforce and its global ecosystem of customers and partners are projected to generate approximately 12 million jobs worldwide by 2028. With its growing digital workforce, Argentina has the potential to play a significant role in filling thousands of these positions.

In recent years, Salesforce has collaborated with local governments, universities, and civil society organizations in Argentina and across Latin America to launch reskilling and employability programs. Leveraging Trailhead, Salesforce’s free training platform, these initiatives equip individuals with the in-demand skills essential for thriving careers in the digital economy. Continued investment in workforce development is critical to unlocking Argentina’s talent potential and positioning the country as a global leader in the AI economy.

AI innovation in Argentina

Salesforce has been investing in Argentina for many years, and this continued investment will not only drive innovation but also support Salesforce’s expanding customer base in the country.

Salesforce’s investment in Argentina extends beyond clients‌ — ‌it also includes its two offices in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, which house MuleSoft engineering teams. These teams are a critical component of Salesforce’s innovation ecosystem, leveraging expertise in data integration and breaking down silos to enhance the development of Salesforce’s trusted AI platform. This unique synergy of customer success, local expertise, and technological advancement positions Argentina as a key pillar in Salesforce’s global innovation strategy, showcasing how technology developed in Argentina can make an impact on the global stage.

Digital transformation of the public sector

While workforce development and AI innovation are transformative, Salesforce recognizes the pivotal role governments play in driving AI adoption. Argentina has a significant opportunity to enhance government efficiency and citizen services through cutting-edge AI solutions. By leveraging Salesforce’s AI-driven tools, such as Agentforce, governments can transform critical functions, from streamlining citizen inquiries to automating complex processes like grant applications.

Embracing these technologies at the national, provincial, and local levels allows Argentina to address strategic challenges, improve public service delivery, and accelerate its digital transformation. This widespread adoption of AI in public services creates the foundation for Argentina to establish itself as a global AI leader and maintain its competitiveness in this rapidly evolving sector.
