Salesforce (MuleSoft) Named a Leader in 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for API Management

Salesforce today announced that MuleSoft has been named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for API Management. This year’s placement marks the ninth consecutive year MuleSoft has been recognized.

Why it’s important: With organizations using an average of 1,061 applications and between 10 and 30 APIs per application, API “sprawl” makes it difficult for IT teams to find and secure their APIs. According to Gartner, these APIs — especially shadow and dormant ones — are causing data breaches among organizations that, on average, exceed the magnitude of other breaches.1

Innovation in action: MuleSoft addresses API sprawl with API Management on Anypoint Platform, a collection of full lifecycle API management capabilities to build, discover, govern, and manage any API built and deployed anywhere. The tool enables organizations to deliver API-driven services, including AI technology, with governance, security, and control features, and:

  • Helps IT teams accelerate application and automation delivery, gain consistent security and quality of their APIs, modernize architecture, and create vibrant API ecosystems.
  • Empowers developers to compose APIs and re-use any API built across any environment. They can adapt any architectural pattern to manage APIs anywhere they reside — on-premise, hybrid, or in the cloud.
  • Helps architects implement governance and apply specific security policies to manage and control access to AI APIs

MuleSoft also helps customers achieve their digital transformation goals with:

  • Anypoint Code Builder, which gives developers AI-powered capabilities to design, develop, and deploy APIs including event-driven APIs, integrations, and automation using a modern IDE.
  • Anypoint API Manager, which provides a centralized control plane to configure and deploy security policies across API gateways, manage and analyze API usage, simplify API consumption, and deliver API programs.
  • Anypoint Flex Gateway, which helps manage and secure any API while delivering the performance required for the most demanding applications while providing enterprise security and manageability across any environment.
  • Anypoint API Governance, which provides end-to-end API governance support from design to implementation. This helps to ensure all enterprise APIs comply with industry regulations and internal policies without adding more steps to API development.
  • Anypoint API Experience Hub, which empowers users to build, grow, and engage ecosystems for their APIs in minutes with easy to use templates to productize, publish, and govern APIs built across any technology or platform.
