What’s the impact: Grubhub partners with over 350,000 merchants and serves tens of millions of customers throughout the country. 

  • The company is using Slack, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Tableau, Heroku, and more to streamline its operations and improve productivity so that it can keep adding more merchants to its takeout marketplace and better serve its partners in local communities.

  • Real-time collaboration: Slack is the productivity platform that connects Grubhub teams across the business. Specifically, Grubhub is using Slack to help sales collaborate with the onboarding, fulfillment, and customer success teams, allowing them to collaborate on urgent asks and work together on longer-term, strategic initiatives.
  • Increased efficiency & productivity: Service Cloud and Sales Cloud help streamline Grubhub’s operations and improve sales productivity, saving $1 million to date by consolidating their tech stack in Salesforce. Sales teams cater to distinct stakeholder needs, managing the complete sales cycle from lead generation to onboarding. 
  • More actionable insights: Tableau enables Grubhub to monitor real-time business performance, including active diners, orders, and gross transaction value, with analytics that are easier to use and integrated right into the flow of work.
  • Scaling innovation to drive customer loyalty: Leveraging Heroku, restaurant owners that utilize Direct, Grubhub’s commission-free online ordering offering for merchants, can easily customize their own app-based customer loyalty program using a pre-built template instead of starting from scratch.

Grubhub’s commitment to Chicago: Grubhub gives back to the Chicago community through a variety of restaurant grants, partnerships, and support programs aimed at closing the hunger gap and supporting local restaurants. This last year, Grubhub has: 

  • Provided nearly 350 grants and $3.4 million to independent restaurants, supporting their growth and resilience.
  • Donated 100,000+ meals, with more than 10,000 distributed to food-insecure families in Chicago through its Serving the City‘ program.
  • Rescued 125,000+ pounds of food through collaborations with organizations like the MEANS database, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, and other local partners.
  • Awarded more than $658,000 in grants from the Grubhub Community Fund.
  • As a part of Hunger Action Month, Grubhub partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to support the growth of its prepared meals program. Its goal is to prepare, source, and distribute up to 10,000 meals per day or 2.5 million meals per year.
