On Crafting Responsible Technology Guidelines During COVID-19

As technology solutions continue to arrive to combat the COVID-19 crisis, technology providers—including Salesforce—are seeing the need for human rights and privacy to be taken into account during development processes. Today, the World Economic Forum (WEF) published a story by Salesforce’s Paula Goldman and Lien Ceulemans titled “5 lessons Salesforce learned crafting responsible technology guidelines during COVID-19.

The story notes that a dynamic set of ethical guidelines can help teams build responsible technology solutions, and delves into best practices. “Make sure you incorporate feedback and collect perspectives from a wide swathe of your community,” the authors advise. “This may include focus groups with diverse audiences or working closely with employee resource groups to understand varying experiences and concerns.”
