LONDON—May 13, 2020—Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, today announced key appointments to its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) management team to support ongoing growth and investment across EMEA, the company’s fastest-growing region globally.
The company named Denis Terrien as Executive Vice President and CEO of Southern Europe and Stefan Hoechbauer as Executive Vice President and CEO of DACH – covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Both executives will report to Gavin Patterson.
Patterson, it was announced today, will transition from the role of President and CEO, Salesforce International to President and Chief Revenue Officer. In his new role which becomes effective August 1, 2020, he will have responsibility for leading the company’s global sales organisation.

Terrien, a former Chairman of the Board at French retailer Vivarte and previously Chief Executive of E-commerce group 3SI, will join Salesforce on June 1, 2020. Hoechbauer, Global President Digital Core at SAP, will start at Salesforce on October 1, 2020.
In recent years, Salesforce has invested significantly in international markets to drive growth, contributing to annual global revenues of $17.1 billion last fiscal year.
About Denis Terrien
Denis started his career at McKinsey & Co in 1991 and went on to found amazon.fr in 1999. He became President of Sanford EMEA (part of Newell) in 2001. He was then named CEO of Group 3SI, becoming Executive Chairman after a sale to the Otto Group. In 2016, he was named Chairman of Grandir (a childcare operator). In 2017, he was named Chairman of the Board of Vivarte (a retailing group). In May 2019, Denis was elected Chairman of IFA (French Institute of Directors).
Denis graduated from Harvard Business School (M.B.A. with distinction), Oxford University (Master in Computer Science) and Enseeiht (Ingénieur in applied Math). He has written several books on leadership and governance and has established a foundation focused on education.
About Stefan Hoechbauer
Stefan is President Digital Core, SAP with global responsibility for SAP`s ERP Business. He joined SAP in 2005 and has held various management and leadership roles across Germany, Switzerland and Emerging Markets.
He was previously Senior Vice President and General Manager Central Europe at Peoplesoft. Prior to that he spent 10 years at Oracle in various sales and management roles and served as a member of the Management Board in Germany.
He graduated from the University of Munich with a Master Degree (Dipl.-Kfm) in Business Administration and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
