Welcome to Release Readiness Live.
It is important to watch Release Readiness Live so that you get a
snippet of the coming attractions
of the functionality
that's coming from Salesforce.
We really focus on the features
that are going to be most useful
and impactful with release readiness.
Why have you got the great opportunity
to actually hear from the mouths
of the people who spent a lot of time
thinking about what exactly
you all, as Salesforce developers
and admins, are actually wanting to see.
Your feedback is so important.
I think that's
one of the most amazing things
actually about the Salesforce
ecosystem is how involved
trailblazers
are with evolution of our products.
Is really about to start.
Welcome to Release Readiness Live from San Francisco.
I'm Gillian Bruce, director of developer
marketing at slack, and I am so honored
to bring Release Readiness Live to you,
because this is where we get to experience
the top product innovations
coming your way in the next release.
But before we get into my happy Nerd Zone,
I need to remind you to only make
purchasing decisions based on currently
available features and functionality.
covered, I want
to thank you so much for joining us today.
Thank you for investing your time with us
to learn about what's coming in Summer
24, and thank you for all the feedback
that you provide us.
is what helps our technology teams build
solutions centered around your experience.
Now we're going to cover
the latest innovations from CRM analytics.
our developer advocates and product
managers shared what's new for developers
in the developer preview.
And then yesterday
we covered sales and flow.
If you missed any portion of those shows,
don't worry, you can watch them
on demand on Salesforce Plus at any time.
And tomorrow we've got even more Release
Readiness Live coming your way
with the Admin Preview and Service Cloud.
individual sessions to your calendar
so that you don't miss them.
We are going to spend the next hours
together here in person
with our product managers,
who are going to be giving us live demos
highlighting the top CRM features
in the Summer 24 release.
But it's not just about all of us
here in the studio, it's about you.
We want to answer your questions
about all of these new features.
So join us on Salesforce Plus in the chat
where we'll have product experts
standing by to give you answers.
Will also be taking your questions
for our product managers here.
But we got to see what they got
to show us first.
First up we have Raghav Ravichandran,
Software Engineering Architect here
to show us the latest with reports
and dashboards in the summer 24 release.
Thank you so much. Julien.
I am a software engineering architect.
The PMS couldn't come, Gillian.
So I'm as nerdy as nerds can get.
Which also means that I have the privilege
of showing you guys
what we've been up to
in the reports and dashboards world.
The first thing that people want
is better performance.
How many times have you built a report
and said, oh gosh, I wish this was fast?
That's exactly what we are
trying to deliver
with performance
improvements across the board.
So we've built, you know, CDN better
caching and you will find the experience
of building reports much faster, both
in the building mode and in the run mode.
Also, when we solve for performance
holistically, what that does is
we can also invest in features
like filtering on aggregates better
subscription limits, and all of the stuff
that you've been wanting for a long time.
The second is report
on field history tracking.
I think many of you know, idea
exchange and in idea exchange,
there's a very popular idea of 50,000
plus points that says
that if a custom object has been added
as a detail relationship, history
tracking, report types just disappear.
And we've tried to fix that for you guys.
And I'll be showing a demo about this
very shortly.
And I'm super, super excited about that.
We also
have the Data Cloud report offering.
And we have built
reporting on Calculated insights objects.
the previous release
we had reporting on data model objects.
And now we've extended that support
to support CIOs.
So I'll be showing a demo of that later
today as well.
then we have our first gen I offering,
which is formula
generation on data cloud reports.
This is a very exciting feature
where we leverage the power of gen AI to
actually generate formulas and reports
and all of these I'll be showcasing
just now in the demo,
so we can switch over to the demo now.
We have the famed Object Manager page,
and in this
we have created the Work Custom object.
that in the fields and relationships
I've added
this as a master detail field.
So I have a child relationship
of this custom object work to account.
So in the earlier days
if you go and created a report on this,
You see work history here.
Earlier
this report type would not used to appear.
But now we have work history here.
So let me go to the work stamp
very quickly.
These are all the works that I've created.
Let me make some changes.
Get ready for school on time.
It's important
I tell my daughter that every day.
see all the old value new values
that are being populated right there.
You can also do
the other things that you're used to.
you can, you know, group the
those by this field
and use it very similar
to how we traditionally use reports.
This has been a hugely requested feature
and we've delivered part of it.
So the other piece of the puzzle is
how do you add these
in a custom report type and so on,
which we are going to be working on.
So let me switch over to the next demo
which is the reporting
on Calculated Insights Objects.
So Calculated Insights
a very interesting data cloud object
where you have stuff like aggregate table
and non aggregate metrics.
And you also have dimensions.
So as you can see
this CIO has three dimensions
and one aggregate metric
and another non aggregate metric.
We have automatically enabled
reporting on all of these objects.
So all you need to do
is go back to the report builder
So you have the data cloud category.
You can go there
and actually search for CIOs.
And you can click on this.
As you can see this panel shows you all
the fields that we just now show us all.
We say that this is
these are all the metrics.
These are all the dimensions.
And let's start a report with this.
something that you notice is
that this is an aggregated data.
So the report by default
is a summary report without details
which means that all of this
is just aggregated value.
You can also see something
very critical here.
The aggregate metric
actually has subtotals.
metrics doesn't have subtotals
because it cannot be aggregated on.
So whatever you do
let's say you add a chart.
It will only be on the aggregate
table metric.
So you can also do other things like
for instance if you can remove groupings
that the non aggregate
table metric just disappears.
So all these fringe edge cases pertaining
to CIOs we've handled it in reports.
So you can do
what you've been used to for so long.
You can create charts with it.
You can save and run this.
You can add dashboards on it.
You can do anything that you're used to
in the operational reporting world
directly on CIOs right now.
So how many of you are excited
about Gen AI on reports?
I am. I truly am excited about this.
So let's go to a data Cloud report.
and let me add some fields to this
So now that I have some fields
here, let me add a grouping.
And let
me try to now add a row level formula.
You will see that if you are on a data
cloud report and you try to add
a row level formula,
you see Einstein show up right here.
So let me ask you the question.
How many accounts have a parent account?
is thinking about it,
let me tell you how this feature works.
You know, report builders
throughout all these years have created
so many formulas, and we have the formulas
and their descriptions with us.
We also have a plethora
of knowledge articles
and all these help documents
for us to know how to build a formula.
So the minute you hit this question,
Einstein understands all of it
and it technically comes back
with the right formula.
the stuff which is very enchanting here
is that this is just the beginning.
So now that we have formula generation,
we are going to take it even further.
We will probably generate report types,
maybe even reports in the future.
And that is what we are aiming at.
Now you see that it is returned back.
And I can actually insert this formula
and it says has parent account
and it has a good description of it.
Then let me just validate
this and click on apply.
You see the formula right here is in that.
That's all I had for my demo.
Did I do better than the PMS?
I want you to come back all the time,
because reports and dashboards
are literally one of my favorite features.
And I'm sorry. That formula generation.
Yes, I wish that was around
when I was first starting.
Yes, yes, that is a game changer 100%.
And it's just the beginning.
So I'm pretty excited about it.
Okay, well, just as a beginning I'm
looking forward to what's next.
Well, thank you for that.
Now we've got a lot of great questions
coming in the chat.
And as a reminder, if you've got questions
we've got Raghav right here.
Get your questions asked
right there in the Salesforce Plus chat.
We've got subject matter experts
standing by in the chat and also giving me
some of those questions here
so I can get them answered directly.
Looking forward to it. Okay.
Well now you're in the hotseat.
Is there hot enough for you?
Not hot enough.
Okay, look at the questions.
let's go ahead and start.
well, this is a fun question.
Are we doing anything
about the limit increase? Yes.
So, subscriptions
limit has always been a subject of
a lot of frustration, I would say.
the subscription
limits from 5 to 7 for all editions,
and we increased it to 15
for unlimited editions.
And if you had slack, you also had
an additional seven subscriptions
that you could actually, leverage.
people have been always asking for more.
And as I mentioned in my demo,
you have to solve performance
holistically for us to be able
to support more subscriptions.
But if subscription number is a pain point
for you guys, please,
you know, reach out, file a case
and whatnot, and we'll look at your org
and what the shape is and accordingly
plan it out or just get slack.
Yeah. You get seven more.
okay, well,
let's keep the questions coming.
Again, everyone tuning in, please type
your questions right in the chat,
because we are asking them
live to work off.
next question is, when will we get
joining the history tables in a custom
I was mentioning on my demo,
that is something that we are working on.
There is, some complexity pertaining
to sharing rules
and how sharing needs to be handled.
I know that data
fidelity is very important.
People should not see the data
they're not supposed to see.
So I think we are working around it
and like, we want to provide that
and we are working on it hopefully soon.
Cannot promise. Forward looking statement.
But yeah I mean again
it's really important
all those permissions
that we already have built
in in terms of access
to specific fields and types of data,
making sure that we respect that
when we build these kinds of features.
you know, the leads on the reporting
teams used to tell us that it's okay
to get a report or like,
you know, throw up, but it's not okay
to show the wrong data. Right?
So I think that is something
which we take very seriously.
And I think we are trying to, you know,
make sure all the holes are plugged
before we check that out.
I like again.
Yeah, again. Priorities, right.
Data security is the top priority for us.
Well thank you for that insight. Okay.
So you hinted a little bit
about how this is just the beginning
for one one piece of what you showed
is my favorite piece.
What are you looking
most forward to as you kind of think about
the overall kind of trajectory
of what reports and dashboards are going?
I mean, it's been quite a journey
over the last few years. A lot.
Yes. What what do you most looking forward
to in the future?
So I think the gen AI offerings
are very powerful.
so as I was saying,
the formula generation is
something
people have struggled with in the past.
Like people are saying, just
can you help us build the right formulas?
And if gen I can make a differentiator
there, there's nothing like it.
There's also like
the other initiatives around Gen,
which says, hey,
how do I find the right report type?
If we can help people
find the right report type,
I think people will be so happy with it.
Similarly, generating reports, all I need
is something I need to ask
a question and boom, if I have a report.
So that vision of Gen AI and reports in
my opinion, is very powerful.
It also means that the regular features
that people have been requesting for
also like filtering on aggregates,
for instance,
those are also stuff
that we are looking at and performance.
So these are the three things
I'm very excited about.
I mean, just for the formula
generator alone and then the ability
to help me figure out
what type of report I want.
I mean, it's like having like a little
Steve Mitchell right inside your head.
Yeah. Steve was great. Yeah.
He starts so many people
how to build formulas, including me.
So yeah, this formula generation is
it should just be called Steve Smith.
Yeah. Steve more generation.
Well thank
you so much for sharing all that.
Thank you for joining us here
in our office.
We're going to have way more questions
for you. So don't go too far.
You're not you're out of the hot seat,
but you're not off of the warm couch yet.
so but we've got more amazing
CRM analytics topics to cover.
So next up we've got a repeat RL,
just the one and only Shiv
used Product Manager,
and he is going to show us the latest CRM
analytics innovations to help
you get the most out of slack,
my favorite dashboards and more.
Awesome. Thanks, Gillian.
My name is Shiv and I'm here to talk about
the serum analytics experience.
So I'm going to be breaking down
our Summer 24 highlights
We've got some exciting stuff coming in
our home and embedded components.
We've got even more exciting stuff
coming our dashboards.
And last
but not least, we've got mobile on slack.
So first, on the home and embedded side,
I want to talk about dashboards.
How do we see and celebrate.
So we are officially going GA with our LDC
and our components, which will allow you
and all of your customers to view
CRM dashboards right in your LDC sites,
as well as LWR sites as well.
Second, we're excited to announce
that we are introducing enhanced embedded
collections components within, within
LDC, within our embedded dashboards.
So right within Lightning Out Builder,
you can go forth
and add
any analytics collection to a page.
And you can even choose that,
that that collection
as opposed to previously where it was just
the default collection that was chosen.
side, we are introducing grouping
right down to the our and the standard
fiscal, standard
fiscal granularity for direct queries.
We're also going to help you
and your users quickly spot
areas of interest by having conditional
formatting in the waterfall charts.
And then on the data direct
side, we're also going to allow you
to seamlessly query remote data cloud
objects right within CRM analytics.
The caveat here
is that you will have to have remote Data
Cloud to be able to access this
on the mobile and slack side.
I'm super excited to announce
that we've added the ability
to post dashboards
and CRM lenses directly from your CRM.
page to your channels in slack.
As well as that, we've increased
our slack subscription limits so that now
you and all of your, users within
the org can now subscribe
even more to more content through slack.
And last but not least, we're also going
beta with flows in mobile.
So now if you have a Salesforce Flow,
you can launch that directly
from a CRM
dashboard right within your mobile device.
So with that, I'm going to jump into,
my demos here and show some of this
awesome stuff in action.
First, I know that a lot of you
are super excited about post-its slack,
so I'm going to show how that works.
Here I am in my analytics home.
I'm going to choose a dashboard
that excites me, which is this one here.
And what you can see
is that in the top right here, right next
to share, we've add this awesome new icon
which is Poster Slack.
So I want to share that share
this dashboard with my teammates.
I'm going to go for it. Post a slack.
And with this prompt I can now choose
first of all
which workspace
I'm going to choose this one.
Pick a channel. Let's say in general
I can also include the image preview
which I'm going to be sure to include.
So I'm going to hit post
and this will get posted
right directly within my slack channel.
Jumping to slack, I can see now that I am
in my slack environment,
I'm going to go to general and boom!
I've got this message here
shared by myself
with that message as well as that image.
I can even download that directly and,
share that comment on that
and really allow a discussion to happen
right
within my workspace around this dashboard.
So moving forward,
another awesome enhancement I want to talk
about is our new and exciting
CRM analytics component.
So here I am in Lightning App Builder
with this dash with this page.
And I want to add a collection here.
So I'm going to go forth,
find the CRM and analytics collection
on the left hand side here.
And now not only can I see that
collection with all of those components,
I can toggle back and forth.
I can even choose
what that collection has.
So let's say I want to talk about
or I want to show a service
That collection shows up right there
with all of the content,
and I'm excited to announce that in future
releases, we'll also add more
configuration
so that users can go forth and choose
how many items are shown,
whether we want to,
whether they want to show or hide the
the title and so forth.
additional configuration is going to make
this just even more exciting.
So that's it for my demos.
Gillian, do we have any questions?
just I'm so starting out with slack.
You're just winning me over.
I mean, bringing CRM and analytics
right into slack.
Come on, know you pandering
because you got to be really excited.
No, no, it's it's
a super exciting enhancement.
Well, it's great
because you're bringing it
into the context
of where people are working. Right.
And that's what it's all about.
I also like the ability to bring CRM
analytics right into your record pages.
that didn't used to be that easy.
So it's nice to see that.
Well,
thank you so much for showing all that.
And as a reminder, everyone tuning in.
We now have Shiv in the hotseat.
So it's time for you to type
your questions in the chat so that we can
go ahead and get them answered.
so Shiv, let's start with some questions.
Sure. Let's go for it.
You sure? Yep. Okay.
I'm not going to slack on these questions.
Okay.
speaking of slack, I know that, record
kind of intimated this,
and I mentioned it earlier,
but I think it's worth doubling down.
What is the increase
for slack subscriptions?
So it's not necessarily
going to be an overnight increase.
We're just making sure
that everything works properly.
So we're slowly
going to increase those limits.
And I think the goal is that currently
it's about 100 per org per hour.
And the goal is to set and get,
by the end of this release
to a thousand per word per hour.
So that means a thousand users can receive
a thousand subscriptions every hour
if they want to.
Is there a use case for that?
I think with 100 we were a bit limited.
We had some feedback from customers
that, hey, we want more, more limits,
which means more subscriptions,
which means more, insights.
So I think we're definitely kind
of building that highway.
And now wait for the traffic to come.
Oh, it'll come, I'm sure if you build it,
they will come. Right?
Isn't that answer the so saying okay.
we've got some questions coming in here.
Oh, we have a question
coming in from Salesforce.
Plus, this is from Aaron.
only post these to a slack channel
or can you send them to individuals.
Yep. So for this release
you could only send them to channels.
But in future releases we're definitely
looking at adding that capability
to send directly to,
people and direct messages as well.
That's great.
okay, more questions for you.
So next question is, I can see
I see that flows from a mobile
dashboard is in beta, but what about flows
from a desktop dashboard?
So launching flows from a desktop
dashboard is still in beta.
It's been in beta for,
I'd say two releases now.
And we're just making sure
everything works fine.
And the goal is to get that to GA
relatively soon.
Forward
looking statement. Yes. Right. Yeah
Okay, well, we got more. So, here we go.
We have another question
I can about slack.
I think a lot of people
noticed a slack theme today.
Can I post from slack to multiple orgs
or just a single org?
Yep. So right now it's only a single org.
But again, another forward
looking statement is that in our upcoming
release releases, we're looking to add
support for multiple orgs as well.
So you can have one slack workspace,
connect it to multiple
Salesforce workspaces.
That would be great.
I mean I look forward to using that.
Yeah.
Well, you showed a lot of, amazing things
about how you can like further access
all the goodness that's in the CRM
analytics, kind of thinking, big picture.
Looking forward, you intimated
there's some things coming in
future releases, but kind of overall,
what makes you most excited
about the overall direction
of where some of this work is going?
I think that what I'm most excited about
is our, ongoing innovation with slack.
You know, slack is everywhere.
Everybody loves slack.
We're going to be working together
a lot more. Yeah.
So we've got a bunch of items
in our roadmap that are really moving
towards optimizing
that CRM analytics app for slack,
and really just making that better.
And, making sure that our users
are getting their insights
as fast as they can in slack, I love that.
I love that we're going to do a lot more
collaboration because that's flex theme.
I'm going to I'm going
to lay off the slackness for a little bit.
great demo, amazing innovations
that you and your team are delivering.
And, we've got more to get to.
There's more CRM analytics
goodness to get to you.
So we're not done with you.
And I know you're still chilling there.
Don't worry.
We're going to ask you more questions too.
But we have more to get to.
So up next we've got Akash Chouhan, Senior
Director of Product Management,
here to give us more on the latest
enhancements.
Enhancements to the CRM analytics
data platform.
I'm Akash Jahan, senior
director of Product management for CRM
analytics here at Salesforce,
and I'm really excited to be back
at Release Readiness
with another great set of exciting
features
focused on CRM analytics data platform.
Let's dive right into it.
So the first bucket of features that you
see here, improvements around usability.
This is a theme that we started
last release and we delivered a number
of great impactful features.
And this really is my personal number one
favorite feature.
It's a small enhancement
but has a big impact,
and that is ability to download
logs of failed roles.
Those of you who worked with CRM
analytics know that this can be a pain,
and I'm really excited to show
this in action in a just a little bit.
We also continued our theme in terms
of improving usability
by providing better visibility to you
around all the different limits
that you have that come with CRM
analytics.
And again, we're going to show this and
dive into specifics in very short order.
The second pillar
is another continuation theme that we have
is around improving performance
and scalability for our recipes
and towards that, in this installment,
we are launching a pilot
where any of you
who use full data synchronization
from core Salesforce into CRM analytics
are going to benefit with your runtimes.
in fact, the benefits
here are going to be so drastic
that you will absolutely love,
the direction where this is going in.
And then the third bucket
that you see here,
this is a launch of a new feature,
feature function that that is been
the number one ask through
our voice of customer feature request.
And that is providing you secure
connectivity over a private connection
to your external system,
such as snowflake running on AWS.
And I'm going to be diving more into this
in just a short order.
But one big caveat on this one
that I would like to call out
is in order to use the private connection
between CRM, analytics
and your external system,
you do need Salesforce
Private Connect license
in addition to CRM analytics licenses.
So with that, let's jump into the demo.
logged in to my CRM
analytics data manager.
And I'm looking at a number of entries
here.
And the first one
that I'm really interested in is
I have some use cases
where I'm uploading data through CSV,
as I have done already here
for this example,
but this could be data
being synchronized from score.
Salesforce or data
that is being sent out to snowflake.
And again, I see that this job completed.
And when I click on it,
what I see here is hey,
the job completed but certain rows failed.
What it does not tell me is
which rows or what can I do about it.
more details for this particular field.
the warning, job in here
by clicking on the job detail.
And again,
I see the status overall as warning.
But when I look at the individual steps
that the job went through, I see that
during digest there is a set of warnings
that were thrown.
And when I click on it again,
I get the same message that we saw
earlier that, oh, this job completed,
but with some failed rows.
But now this new small icon
that says job details.
And I see a download data
download job details option here.
I click on that and voila!
It lets me download the logs.
that I that the specific records
that failed.
So let's take a quick
look on actual log and what it tells us.
it gives me specific row number
where the the job failed.
So row number 413
and 24 failed very very actionable inside.
And it also tells me exactly what failed.
So here it tells me that
oh the data in the column
named runs has invalid category. Right.
And if I look at the actual row
record here to the right,
I can see that runs is a numeric field
where somehow in my data
I have non-numeric values,
again, very actionable,
something that I can take advantage of.
And it tells me the exact error
by each row.
So for here the column is row millions.
So I know customers who have spent hours
trying to figure out
which specific rows are failing and why.
This is going to be a huge
productivity booster for a lot of you.
So I'm really excited to see,
how you benefit from it.
the, download log options,
we added additional
enhancements in terms of visibility
to additional limits.
And as we are adding these limits,
we realize that we are adding
so many new limit visibility that the page
in itself is getting a little unwieldy.
And so a big improvement.
We are doing this release with Data
Manager is we're now dividing
all of these limits
into different categories.
So a general category
telling you number of rows, you consuming
number of objects,
you have a number of runs, you have
another category being inputs. Right.
How much data are you bringing in
and how you comparing against the daily 24
hour limit.
And of course the output limits.
Salesforce Csvs
and then the newly added Amazon S3.
moment on these two new limits
that we have added.
The first one is connected objects.
So today you have a set capacity
of number of Salesforce
and external objects
that you can that you can connect to.
And the only way
you realize that you run out of it is
when you start to making a new connection
and it fails.
Complaining about the limits.
With this limit,
we are hoping that you can plan better.
You can remove unused fields or if needed,
you can provision more capacity
through Salesforce
data pipeline for connected objects.
So definitely something that I see
customer investigations every now
And this hopefully gives
you better planning and better visibility.
In addition to that, we also added
the output limit visibility
to Snowflake and Amazon S3.
again
this is something a lot of you are using.
there is a rolling 50 GB per day limit.
but you do not have visibility.
How much of that
you use after each job run.
So now this will let you know exactly
how much you have used, what you have left
in the rolling 24 hour period
that you've got so really, really
exciting features in terms of providing
you better visibility, and how to use it.
gears and switch into, recipes.
Those of you who have used recipes
for a long time know that when recipe
that you bring in the input
jobs can take a lot of time.
And to give you behind the scene
visibility.
Why that is the case is that
because our recipe is run on a new,
advanced platform
that needs a specialized data format
in order to consume these,
the input data sources.
And so with this new pilot, what we are
launching is we are allowing you to,
basically optimize
the format of this data
that you bring in from core Salesforce
into CRM analytics, generate
this during the synchronization itself,
so that when the recipe runs,
it spends very minimal minutes,
if not seconds to bring this data in.
And I'm going to show you actual recipe
and how that looks like.
So in this example,
I am looking at my opportunity full sync.
I check box, I check this box
and I save it and voila, it's ready.
And so next time
I synchronize this object, it's going to
it is going to be basically generating
this new format
that I'm going to benefit from.
So for the purpose of this demo, I have
already run the synchronization prior.
And I'm using this opportunity data
in this
recipe called Release Readiness Summer 24.
And when I look at the job run history
now you can see that opportunity object.
The load time was in seconds.
And again
you can see that the the the overall time
for your large data volume jobs,
it will still be within minutes
if not similar seconds
when you need to bring in.
And this will have like about 15
to 20% performance improvement on
And about 70% of recipes
are going to benefit from this.
And this is just a the first installment
in this particular area.
So really, really excited to for this
release of data sync, optimizations.
And what you going to see in
the subsequent release, related to this?
beyond that, I want to quickly jump
into the last feature
I want to talk about today,
which is Private Connect.
any data you bring from external system
into Salesforce, we always encrypt, right.
Even today when you run these jobs,
the data that you see is encrypted.
What you do not have is if the in certain
regulated industries you do not want that
data to go over public internet,
you want that data to be going over.
private connection,
a dedicated pipe between Salesforce
and your external system.
And that is what this feature
provides. Right.
And in order for you to use it,
you do need the Salesforce
And here I have set this particular
private pipe, for Salesforce
And I also have set snowflake
VPC name credentials.
So authentication
that I need to do with VPC.
and once I do that I go in
and look at my new connections.
And what do you what is the new part
that you see here is this new private tab
that allows you to connect to snowflake,
over a private connection.
So all of this looks
and feels the same way, but it's
the data is instead of going over
public internet, it's basically
going over the private, dedicated network
that is between Salesforce and AWS
and once I have
that connection established,
you basically synchronize
the object just the way you normally do,
object you synchronize, schedule them
as you please.
It it will flow over private pipe
instead of, public internet.
and with that, Gillian, back over to you
and see what questions we have.
Well, come on over here, catch,
because we got a lot to talk about.
you showed us a lot of things.
I mean, I love,
especially that last thing,
the last one
you showed us about the private connect.
I mean, protecting
data is of the utmost importance.
And top of mind for everyone these days.
So that's a great innovation.
Thank you for showing us. Yeah.
so this is not just one feature
that we are releasing,
but it actually puts us on path
to release additional connectors
that will go provide
the same level of private, connectivity.
So really excited for that.
I love that. Again, just the beginning
I love it.
Well, thank you for showing us that.
Now, as a reminder for all of you
tuning in,
Akash is now in the hotseat, so
we can ask him any question that you got.
So make sure you type it in the chat and
we will get your question answered live.
Yes. Okay, we're going to fire away.
But before we do we have a little bit of
love from the Salesforce Plus chat.
Ben says waterfall charts. Nice.
So he's excited about waterfall charts.
And love copilot
also from Ben on Salesforce plus.
yes, we all love copilot.
Okay, so,
Akash, let's get to some questions here.
Will the recipe run optimization support
incremental incremental things? Yes.
So for the first release in this pilot
we are supporting full object
synchronization only,
but in a very subsequent, time
frame here, even before
probably next release, we gonna be start
supporting incremental sync,
because we know that majority of you
have combination of full synchronization
and incremental synchronization.
And, this will benefit, as I say,
like about 70% of the jobs customers run.
So we are acutely aware of it.
And we are working really hard to get
that out the door as fast as we can.
Again, forward looking statement.
You know, but it's good to know
that it's on the docket
and you guys are working on it.
Next question is about Private Connect,
which we kind of talked
about a little bit already.
for Private Connect, is it required that
my snowflake instance be running on AWS?
That that is a very important distinction,
and I'm glad that is pointed out here,
because today
the way the private connect works
is it really requires physical network
being connected between Salesforce
data Center and your external system
provider's data center.
And in this instance, that connection
exists between Salesforce and AWS,
And so it is required
that snowflake be run on Amazon
AWS, for this Private Connect
feature to be used.
Well, again, that's
why it's so secure, right?
okay. Some more questions for you here.
continuing on the private Connect
theme, are there plans to
you kind of mentioned this,
but talk a little bit more about plans
to support the private connect beyond
snowflake.
What's.
So it's kind of first on the list there.
As as I mentioned. Right.
the first release is specific to
snowflake, but what it required us to do
is lay the groundwork
to establish this infrastructure
between Salesforce and AWS,
which means other properties
that run on AWS, particularly redshift
and S3, is on our short list.
A lot of customers
have been asking for that,
and that is something that that is
on our shortlist, to be released soon.
Well,
and we just heard a little bit about that
in the previous
the developer preview, Danielle,
actually talked about
in terms of context of data cloud, how
some of those are some of the most
requested services to connect to.
kind of the same question
that I already ask for a Covid shift
thinking big picture
about where this is all going.
What are you most looking forward to
in terms of how this is going to impact,
you know, our builders
who use the Salesforce platform?
Yeah, I think over the last two releases
and going into this and the next,
the performance and the scalability,
I mean,
when we look at our internal numbers
for, reliability, availability,
they are really improving,
which in turn is showing
the adoption of recipes is doubling
and the performance
is just getting started.
And we're going to see
a lot more performance improvement,
which in turn will drive
more workload for customers.
So that's I mean,
you can probably sense it in my voice.
It's a domino effect
that we exciting to see.
And I'm really,
really looking forward to that.
Just more and more more more more
more and more and more okay.
Well speaking of more, more, more,
we got more and more
and more CRM analytics to get to,
so thank you so much for sharing all that.
But we've got one more section to come to.
And last and definitely not least,
we've got the one and only I, new
S'assurer Patty, Senior
Director of Product Management
with the latest and greatest
and how you can use intelligent
apps to help
you get started on the CRM
analytics platform.
Hello everyone. Excited to be back here.
Release Readiness Live this time
to talk to you about intelligent apps.
So intelligent apps
have been in quite a long journey here.
So we have intelligent apps that are
coming for every cloud in Salesforce.
And in the summer 24 release,
we have great new apps coming with revenue
intelligence enhancements, service
intelligence and more.
This is targeted for sellers and sales
leaders and with Revenue intelligence now
in summer 24 release, you can view leads
in your Einstein Account Management app,
which is great for sellers
because now they can go ahead and grow
their account revenue.
Also, with the Revenue Insights app
that comes with Revenue Intelligence,
we have improved the navigation,
so that the out of the box
dashboards are easier to navigate.
We've also streamlined setup for these
apps so that they're in the same setup.
app, which is our first app
that's built on top of data cloud,
this app is targeted
for your service leaders and agents.
And with the summer 24 release,
now you have channel performance insights,
agent performance insights,
and also a new predictive model
estimated time to resolve
We have great enhancements
coming in with consumer goods, clouds,
optimizations for key account managers,
and with the Health Cloud Analytics app.
There's a new great Out-of-box
dashboard coming with patient
And I'm personally really excited
that we're launching
few new apps with the Summer 24 release,
starting with Field Service Intelligence,
this new app is powered by Data Cloud,
and it uses CRM analytics to visualize.
So it uses the CRM direct query path,
and it's targeted for field operations
so that they can analyze their key
metrics, such as a first time to fix rate.
And we give great out of the box
dashboards
such as your work
orders, assets and service appointments.
new app coming with Commerce Insights
and Analytics.
This is targeted for merchants.
Again, it's built on top of data.
Cloud uses CRM to visualize.
And with this out of the box solution, now
merchants can increase their conversions
and also understand how to increase
their loyalty across the stores.
Merchants can also analyze product trends,
customer purchasing patterns, and more.
And great news for you admins!
We're improving the setup experience
for all of these out of the box
intelligent apps,
starting with automating the setup steps.
And also we're enhancing
the management of these apps.
Now, there's quite a lot of apps
coming out, and we're helping you manage
all the app resources for each app right
within the app setup.
And also we're giving you the ability
to schedule more frequent app refreshes.
let's go ahead and jump into the demo.
Let's start with Revenue Intelligence.
as I just mentioned, is the product
for sales leaders and sellers.
And with the Einstein account
Management app specifically,
sellers can get a 360 view
on their account insights.
So when I go here I can easily see
what are the accounts I'm working on,
which of the accounts are at risk?
Which are the accounts
I should sell Lauren to?
And if I go into the inspector
component here,
which is very easy to configure
because these apps are built on top of CRM
platform, I can easily understand
what are the key metrics
I need to put for these sellers.
So with the summer 24 release, we're
giving you all the box metrics into leads.
So as a seller, I can see the total leads.
I can get a breakdown of these leads,
see the conversion rate
and also understand the recent leads.
This is great for me because now I can
understand how to grow these accounts
with the Revenue Insights
app that also comes with Einstein account.
with Revenue Intelligence.
This app has quite a lot of dashboards
that we've been building
since the last few years.
And now as a seller again,
I just want to go to the sales
rep command center
so I can easily pin the dashboard.
Now let's shift gears and go into service
intelligence.
Service Intelligence product is designed
for service leaders
and supervisors and agents.
And with the summer 24 release,
we're giving you service leaders
visibility into their channel preferences
and channel performance.
So not only can service leaders already,
they can analyze the cases information.
They can understand key metrics
such as average time to close.
But now again with summer 24 release,
they can also identify channel preferences
so they can take a look at hey,
what's the case origin
based on the case
volume based on escalations.
And they can proactively encourage
customers
to switch channels based on the issues
or requests that they're having.
And also for agents with the Service
Intelligence app,
we're giving them powerful recommendations
so that they can effectively manage
And they can also manage your case
load times.
We already have this out of the box
predictive model propensity to escalate.
And now with the summer 24 release,
we're adding another predictive model
with the estimated time to resolve.
That's a wrap
for all the intelligent apps,
and I'm excited to show you next time
more of these apps.
Well,
I'm excited for you to come walk over here
and sit down in the hot seat because
we got some questions for you. Yes.
What did you think about those apps
that I think the apps are great,
but the thing that you met that
of course caught my eye and my ear
was really helping the admins
control and manage these a lot easier.
It actually kind of continues off
some of the things
that you were talking about, about,
you know,
really making it easier to manage
having like one view in a place
to see what's going on and enable users.
So that made me really excited. Yes.
Well,
we've got a lot of questions coming in.
reminder for those of you tuning in,
please ask your questions in the chat.
We've now got all four of our incredible
product managers here on the couch.
Well, Honorary Product manager, every
to answer your questions.
So make sure you ask them in the chat
and we will get them answered.
So, Anisha, since you're in the hot seat,
we're going to come to you.
Ready? Yep. Okay, here we go. All right.
an intelligent app set up.
And management, what does the ability
to schedule more app refreshes mean?
So that's the great new feature
that's coming within setup.
So before you know
you can only refresh your app once a day.
But now starting with summer 24 release
we are enabling more refreshes.
So it can be every four hours, every hour.
so that makes sure
that the data is up to date
and you can control how often it is
updated.
Wonderful I love that. Okay.
We've got another question from you.
And you try. This is actually,
Here we go. We got another one.
The intelligent apps that are using CRM
direct query from Data Cloud.
Our data cloud credits included.
Yes. So it depends you know I that's why
I mentioned like kind of there's
a different some of these apps
are actually included with certain SKUs.
But yes we are including credits
with the service intelligence one.
We have 10,000 credits included.
So it helps
you get started with Data Cloud.
That's the whole idea I love it.
Well, we have kind of exactly
kind of related question
come in from Salesforce+ from Kelly
asking about, you know, intelligent apps,
being included
with an account engagement class.
But yeah, you know, we're building
this intelligent
apps for every Salesforce cloud.
The idea is
we infuse intelligence into the cloud.
We are looking at how we could bundle
these apps within the cloud as well.
What she's mentioning a new marketing one.
The next one, the sneak peek okay.
Forward looking statement.
Here we go. Get a little insights
into the roadmap here.
okay. Next question for you, Anusha.
how can customers track the usage of data
cloud credits from these out of the box
intelligent apps?
there's digital wallet coming
and then we're really excited about that
and Intelligent Apps team
because with all of these intelligent
apps like service intelligence
field service commerce, now you can start
tracking with your digital wallet
as well as consumption cards.
And how many queries are running.
well, again,
being able to track what people are doing
and how much your, your organs is,
doing online, it's very important.
My my inner admin has more control. okay.
So now you are all on the on the warm
couch, hot couch, lukewarm couch.
we're gonna
we're gonna pepper some questions around
that we've got coming in online.
should have I'm going to come to you.
This is a question from Vamsi
on Salesforce plus,
kind of related to the slack posting.
Is there any way to post the dashboard
to Microsoft Teams channels?
I'm okay with that as well. Slack person.
So you slack, you slack. okay.
the next question, Akash,
this is actually coming to you.
this is, from Salesforce
plus CRM analytics, performance,
typically degrades when it comes to data
more than 10 billion rows.
So how can it handle the data from data
cloud of high volume.
Yeah, I think that's where the broader
Salesforce strategy,
if you see right, the Zero Copy
Alliance and Anusha
trying to do direct
query against data cloud.
So where possible
we don't want you to need to move data.
We want you to go directly.
We have the sources query that
bring it in.
But we know
customers do have these large volumes
where they want to bring it in CRM
for right use cases and synthesize it all.
And so that's where my investment
going back to recipe performance,
we continue to invest heavily into it.
I talked about full sync incremental sync.
We're going to have more optimizations
around that beyond
into how you write
data back into, CRM analytics.
So definitely
that is something top of mind.
And there is no single silver bullet,
if you will, to address the performance.
But it's all these one small step
at a time that's going to get us there.
it takes a little steps over a long time
to make a big difference, right?
so I'm going to come back to you
because you are, you know, you really do
build a lot of these features, right?
This is what you're doing.
What in terms of like, maybe something
that's coming out this release
or has recently come out,
what was one thing that has been with
like a really unique challenge to solve,
maybe kind of through your teams
for a little a little bit of a curveball.
I mean, was an interesting story
you'd like to share?
I think the problem with
I was the problem,
the challenge with reporting
is that it's it's as old as Salesforce is.
So there's so many opinions,
so many users.
And we respect all of it.
So the trouble has always been to balance
a lot of these things
like innovation is coming.
So people are asking
what are you doing about Genie.
But also an average user is asking
why am I not getting more subscriptions?
how do you balance these two things
is something that we always struggle with.
And also the idea exchange
is something that we always look at.
So people are generally frustrated
an idea exchange
and they call us out right
like and say do you guys even look at it?
We do believe us.
Like we read every comment.
And so balancing all of these things out
is probably the curveballs
that we have to go through.
And with the product managers
in the House, they help us
prioritize these,
so they help us prioritize.
But that is predominantly what it is,
that we've been dealing with.
I mean, like you said, like reports
and dashboards is what you consider
like one of the most core Salesforce
features. Right?
And I think it's one of the first things
you learn at first.
One of the first things I learned
when I was learning Salesforce,
incredibly powerful tool, very basic.
When a lot of people
use it on a day to day basis,
but at the same time
incorporating some of these brand
new innovative technologies,
especially when it comes to Einstein
you kind of have this like push and pull
like you got to take care of,
like the core basic table stakes.
But then you've also got to be
on the cutting edge of technology
and figure out how to incorporate
that at the same time. Yes.
So thanks for doing the work. It's hard.
Well, thanks for using the product
I think I think thanks for giving us
feedback. That's important.
Again shout out call out for the idea
exchange if you have an idea for something
you want to see. See
we actually pay attention. We look at it.
It really helps with prioritization
and figuring out what is important to you.
so I'm going to come to you
because I ask everybody else
a form of this,
but thinking kind of future, you know,
what couple releases out
kind of beyond what makes you most
what are you most looking forward to
in kind of your product area
in terms of intelligent apps
and just general?
I mean, you've been working
on this technology for quite a while too,
how you've been on really starting
this lab a few times in the past.
so tell me, what kind of keeps
you excited about this work
and what are you most looking forward to?
So, you know, on the intelligent apps,
you know, I've been thinking about
how do we accelerate time to value?
How do we really build a customer?
And that's what I'm really excited about.
I think we have an opportunity
to bring as we're
starting to build on top of data cloud.
we have an opportunity to think
about what happens
when customers have sales and service.
How do we not think about app silos,
but instead build,
you know, intelligent components
and connect the storylines?
so that's what I'm personally excited
about, really building a true
out of the box customer 360 solution
making again, making it easier for people
to use the technology right out of box.
Get what they need out of it,
and easy for it to roll out to your users.
And, you know,
lowering the barrier of entry.
Yep. And learning curve. Yep.
Especially when you have like great new
platforms.
Right, with data cloud and all of these.
So I think, you know,
there's we want to really understand
all of these innovations
that are coming with CRM and data cloud.
And then really make sure
customers can help them
get them started on this journey?
Well, I mean, again, all of these amazing
AI innovations are wonderful,
but none of them do much unless you've got
a bunch of data coming in.
one of the first things that you do with
data is obviously look at what it is.
And so you are all building
in terms of stream
analytics reports and dashboards,
like that's how you get that.
That's how I, how the data starts
to matter. Right.
And then you layer
intelligence on top of it
and you can do all kinds
of exciting things.
so we have a couple of minutes left
here, and I wanted to kind of take
an opportunity.
You know, some of you are pretty CS.
I think all of you are pretty seasoned
Salesforce employees, right?
How many we got?
Like how many years are you?
Seven, seven, seven as well.
And close to five. Close to five. Eight.
Oh look at that. Look at the ten on here.
I want to say how many years
I've been here.
it's a lot, but,
you know, with the transformation
that we've all seen of technology
over the last couple of years,
especially the last couple of years,
and kind of looking forward to saying,
like, what is the best?
Thinking about how our users get up
to speed with everything that's coming?
I mean, you are probably even though
this is your job,
it's a lot to keep up on.
What is what are some of the things
that you suggest?
Or you see people
that are using our technology
and helping them stay up to date and able
to use all of these new innovations
because like, we just threw
a lot of people, a lot of people.
Just with the summer 24 release,
what helps you and what have you seen
other people be successful
with in terms of getting up to speed
with what's happening?
A new chef start with you?
Well, so I worked
on all the products here, so I'm excited.
But you know, blogs, right?
I'm a big fan.
I mean, trail heads are amazing too.
I personally take trailhead still,
but I think blogs are really amazing
and there's different types of blogs.
We have blogs for admin and devs.
Customer 360 like thought leadership.
you know, going into all these Salesforce
blogs and understanding the technology,
understanding how they built this to
and then why is it valuable?
I want to understand
both on the building side
and why are we like
how is it valuable for the end customers?
so I've been looking into these blogs
well, and it's fun to see
people who are writing about
what they've done with it, right?
To see the use cases, like
how have they pushed it, what blocks have,
what roadblocks have they encountered?
as you know, in your jobs that you're
you're like, oh, I built this thing.
I don't know how people are going to use
it. I have an idea.
But let's let's see what happens out
in the wild. Exactly. Yeah.
And I'm going to expand on
what you just said. Right.
So we all go to Dreamforce
and usually we are presenting.
But when we are I'm not presenting.
My favorite thing to do is go sit in
sessions where customers are presenting.
because I like as a product leaders,
we all think how our products get used,
but when actually it gets in
customer's hand and you see how they use
and you get that about like,
oh yeah, I didn't even think of that.
Or it's amazing
to see the impact that you make.
And it it sparks lots of ideas.
Oh I can do this better.
I can do that better.
So yeah,
I think that's, besides the blog and,
trailhead,
we all are rangers and how I think so.
Hey. Yeah, I mean, for Star Ranger
over here, but that's not right.
Like, I cannot run forever.
I'm anxious, but that's that's great.
And also good call out for Dreamforce
because in fact,
if you are tuning in right now,
you have a great story
that you want to share about report
stash part CRM analytics.
The call for presentations is open
until June 6th.
So get those submissions in,
because that's the time
where you can share
some of these great use cases
and inspire some of these amazing product
managers here.
All right. So how about you.
Yeah I'm going to echo
what inertia and a guy said
I think it's really important
that you're keeping up to date
with all of the updates,
whether it's blogs trailhead release,
writing this live,
and then also attending sessions.
I think that's all important.
But I think what's most important
is really about learning.
By doing so, actually using the products
you, you go to release right now,
Release Readiness Live,
you see all these crazy new announcements.
You should go forth
and actually play around with them, test
And I think that's how you're going
to not only invoke new ideas,
but you're going to actually learn more
about the platform
and all this exciting stuff
that's happening.
I can I can sit through,
you know, all kinds of presentations,
listen to all the things.
But unless I get hands on it,
like does not click for me.
So definitely that's that's great.
Well thank you for sharing. Okay. Right.
So I think my answer is going
to be different from all these people
because, I'm an engineer.
So the way that we use the product
and while building it is very different
from how consumers consume it.
So one of the big moments for me
was always to understand
the fact
that the customer knows the product
better than I do,
because it's been around for a long time.
So I've always we mentioned Steve Moore
during our conversation.
it's impossible
to take out these MVP's away
from such an old product
like reports and dashboards.
So I've learned a lot
by just looking at their work,
all their tweets, all their frustrations.
and like just going
and putting yourself in
the shoes of the customer
has been very helpful to me.
aside from all the technical knowledge
that you acquire
actually going and sitting like what
a guy was saying in all these Dreamforce
presentations where they're saying, well,
this is exactly how we use the product.
One of a great moment for me was
I was teaching one reports
and dashboard session,
and there were close to 1000 people
sitting on the floor of Dreamforce
trying to learn the product.
And after the product,
they all came up to me in line
and they opened one report and said,
can you build this report for me?
And that was such a big eye opener
moment for me, and I felt super proud
to be working on this product.
So I think I always go to the customers.
I always learn from the customers.
better than I do, so I think that's
something that I have learned
over the course of these eight deals
with the products.
Well,
and you feel so connected to the impact
that you're having
with what you're building, right?
By seeing people coming up and being like,
hey, can you help fix this report?
and, you know, we mentioned
CMO a couple times, just for those of you
who don't know who the CMO is, he is
one of our original Salesforce MVP's.
And he literally, I think, has helped
almost probably
I would bet like hundreds of thousands
of people figure out formulas and reports
and dashboards over the years.
So OG MVP, oh gee, MVP indeed.
well,
thank you all so much for joining us.
Taking the time to be here
to share all the innovations.
Now, I know
I mentioned my slack shoes earlier
because I made I jumped over the slack
I like about a month and a half ago.
of give everyone online
a chance to view my beautiful slack shoes.
They are, you know, this is what happens
when you change teams.
They get excited and they give you shoes.
Now, but, I'm excited to be at slack.
I'm also very proud to be part
of the Salesforce family as always.
So thank you
all for the work you do for contributing
to helping everyone in the Salesforce
ecosystem get better with analytics.
It's so important and so important.
And, even now
we're about to wrap up this session.
Now you can still ask your questions.
Go ahead and pop them over.
In the trailblazer community,
as you heard,
the teams pay a lot of attention
to what you do in the community.
So we'll make sure that your question
gets an answer in there.
Now, we are not done with Release Readiness Live.
There's more coming your way about Summer
24 tomorrow.
You can join us right here on Salesforce
Plus for the admin preview at 9 a.m.,
followed by the Service
Cloud session right at 11 a.m..
Those are both Pacific Time.
Thank you so much for tuning in, and
we'll catch you next time in the cloud.
