A Serendipitous Opportunity
In 2014, while pursuing a part-time master’s program at Carnegie Mellon University, Adam Olshansky was introduced to Salesforce by a guest lecturer in his cloud computing class. Around the same time, he received a promotion at Honeywell that required him to work with Salesforce despite having little prior knowledge. (Adam jokes he didn’t even know what “CRM” stood for.) This crossover of academic studies and professional responsibilities marked the beginning of Adam’s journey as a Trailblazer — one that gained momentum at a Salesforce event.
Making a Pivotal Decision
With his new role in mind, Adam attended Dreamforce later that year to deepen his understanding of Salesforce. During the conference, he attended a session led by a former email marketer who had transitioned to a Salesforce career and landed a job at Google. Inspired by the speaker’s journey, Adam saw Salesforce as a pathway to fulfilling his dream of working at a top tech company. After introducing himself to the speaker, he left the session confident in attaining his goals. Adam began building his expertise by earning certifications, utilizing Honeywell’s training resources, and leveraging Trailhead to earn five certifications quickly.
The Power of Connections
The connections Adam made at his first Dreamforce and his dedication to mastering Salesforce played a crucial role in achieving his dream job. Today, as a Salesforce Architect at Google, Adam transforms complex business needs into scalable solutions. Over his seven years at Google, he has worked across teams, including YouTube, Google Play, and the devices group. His role has evolved from writing and reviewing code as a developer to strategic design as an architect. Adam’s work involves optimizing internal workflows, automating processes, and designing solutions that seamlessly integrate Salesforce into Google’s broader ecosystem. For example, he has streamlined data management for internal teams, replacing cumbersome spreadsheets with automated, connected systems.
I’m further ahead in my career today than I ever would have thought possible just a few years ago. Building it alongside Salesforce was my path forward.

He is particularly excited about Agentforce and its potential to leverage AI and automation to enhance agent-customer interactions, driving efficiency and satisfaction. Adam’s forward-thinking approach ensures he stays current with Salesforce’s latest advancements by continually exploring new automation and data management applications.
A Commitment to Community
Adam’s passion for Salesforce extends beyond his professional achievements to his work within the Trailblazer Community, where he embodies the ethos of paying it forward. Inspired by the mentors who aided him in his journey, Adam dedicates his time to mentoring others, sharing his expertise at conferences, and volunteering with initiatives like RAD Women. Adam’s efforts highlight the collaborative spirit of the Salesforce ecosystem, where helping others is a cornerstone of success. His unwavering dedication and involvement in the community led him to become a Salesforce MVP, a community-nominated recognition for Trailblazers who have exceptional product expertise, leadership, and generosity. His continued involvement and recognition in this program for 5 years landed him in the Salesforce MVP Hall of Fame. Adam’s journey from a curious learner to a Salesforce Architect at Google showcases the power of ambition, community, and the transformative potential of Salesforce.
