Misty Jones is a Trailblazer

In 2009, during a downturn in the stock market, Misty Jones found herself rebuilding her career. She had been working in a sales role at a regional bank and was looking for a new direction. When the bank’s Salesforce administrator quit, Misty’s boss asked her what she knew about Salesforce — and she seized the opportunity. Misty started by balancing her sales responsibilities with her new role as solo Salesforce admin for her team, changing the course of her entire career.

As Misty deepened her understanding of the Salesforce Platform, she attended an admin training, which proved to be a turning point. During the class, another admin excitedly asked if she would be attending Dreamforce, describing how transformative the experience had been. Inspired by the story, Misty attended Dreamforce for the first time that year, and the experience of connecting with the Trailblazer Community in-person shifted her path. Misty realized that her future lay in being an admin full-time, and that her true passion was in helping people sell, not being the salesperson.

With renewed purpose, Misty became the sole admin for the wealth management division in which she worked. She expanded the platform to support web referrals from new departments, as well as focused on improving workflows and training end users. Even when tasked with consolidating systems, Misty led the charge. She played a critical role in ensuring smooth transitions and functionality for thousands of users.

Today, Misty continues to expand on her expertise outside of her work. For instance, she is particularly interested in gaining a better understanding of how tools can be used to create and customize autonomous agents. Misty recently attended an Agentforce NOW Tour workshop to gain hands-on experience with expert guidance, and she regularly leverages Trailhead to gain even more knowledge across a range of topics.

Throughout her Salesforce journey, Misty has consistently looked beyond herself. She advocates for newer or solo admins to attend user groups and engage in community events. In that same spirit, she created the Flyin' Solo group for Salesforce professionals who attend events on their own, providing them a way to meet new people and connect with others in a similar situation. She also co-created Ohana Pears, leads the Phoenix Women in Tech group, and co-chairs WITness Success. For Misty, the collective knowledge and support of fellow Trailblazers has made all the difference, and she is committed to sharing that experience with others.
