Scott Luikart is a Trailblazer

Journey to Discovery

After completing a master's degree, Scott Luikart faced the challenge of finding a job in his chosen field. He held a handful of different jobs, from auditing lifeguards at water resorts to working as a technical support rep for Apple. One thing did remain consistent across every role he held — he found his calling in community, and creating solutions that made people's lives easier. When Scott discovered Salesforce, he was amazed by the possibility of applying his existing customer service skills to a technical role. Scott attended his first Dreamforce in 2013 and later immersed himself in the Trailblazer Community. His community connections landed him a role where he eventually became a Salesforce Administrator.

Embracing the Salesforce Ecosystem

One significant Salesforce project that Scott engaged in was his involvement with Montrose Grace Place, an outreach program supporting homeless youth of all sexualities and genders. Motivated to make a difference, Scott raised funds to provide computers for the program. Scott continues to volunteer with the program, making the trip from his home in Austin to Houston monthly. He uses Trailhead as a tool to show the youth the value of education. For every badge completed, Scott rewards the participants with a gift card, demonstrating that learning can lead to tangible rewards. By fostering a sense of agency and providing opportunities for growth, Scott believes individuals can create real change in their lives and communities.

Trailhead gives the students a great platform to continue learning. It’s about enabling them to move into something new.
