Salesforce Economy in India Expected to Create 1.8M Jobs and $88.6B in New Business Revenues by 2028
The global Salesforce Economy, powered by AI, will create a net gain of 11.6M jobs and $2.02T in business revenues between 2022 and 2028.
Mumbai – June 19, 2024 — Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), the global leader in CRM, today announced insights from an IDC study, indicating the Salesforce economy is expanding — and AI is accelerating its growth trajectory. The study forecasts that Salesforce and its ecosystem of customers and partners in India are expected to create a net gain of 1.8 million new jobs and generate $88.6 billion in new revenues from 2022 to 2028.

Drivers of Adoption
In India, among the companies that use AI today 79% use AI-powered CRM solutions and 80% use Enterprise AI software platforms.
AI-powered applications will multiply operational efficiency and customer experience benefits. In India, the primary drivers for using AI-powered cloud solutions include improved employee productivity (35%) and customer experience (34%), and increased quality – of product, production, supply chain, service (29%).
Ecosystem Impact
AI drives significant opportunities for the partner ecosystem to help customers on their AI-powered journey.
In every AI-powered cloud solution, in addition to the basic cloud subscription, for a fully functional implementation, 64% of respondents in India say they require IT project consulting or systems integration, 62% cloud services (for example, storage, security, other apps) and 55% IT ongoing managed services.
Jobs Impact
In the next 12 months, AI-powered cloud solutions are expected to impact organisations, with 58% citing increasing need for workforce AI skills. 51% of respondents expect improved job satisfaction, and 50% expect higher productivity – getting more done in less time.
The study envisages that work will not only change, but also drive new categories of roles to be hired. In India, over the next 12 months, roles such as an AI ethicist (62%) data architects (58%) and a chief AI officer (52%) emerged as the top three roles.
Challenges
Today, the biggest challenges businesses in India face in implementing AI-powered cloud solutions technology are: trustworthiness/bias in data (34%), lack of skilled employees (data scientists, data engineers, or AI modelers) (33%), and AI governance and risk management (30%).
